Gulf Coast State College
Gulf Coast State College, formerly known as Gulf Coast Community College is a state college, located in Panama City, Florida, and was founded in 1957 by the Florida Legislature.
This college is a member institution of the Florida College System. It is also a member of the American Association of Community Colleges, the American Council on Education, and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education. It is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award associate and bachelor's degrees.
Gulf Coast State College holds the students and the community of central importance. It gives many opportunities for learning and offers a range of programs and services to help students become well-educated and productive citizens.
Gulf Coast State College Athletic teams are nicknamed the Commodores and participate in menís basketball, women's basketball, women's softball, women's volleyball, and men's baseball.
Gulf Coast State offers more than 140 programs, including 75 Associate in Arts degree transfer tracks, 16 Associate in Applied Science degrees, Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Technology Management, 13 Associate in Science degrees, 41 Technical, College Credit Certificates.
The College also offers Adult Basic Education and GED Preparation programs, Continuing and Community Education programs, Workforce Education programs and certificates, and the Educator Preparation program.
Gulf Coast State College is strives to collaborate with the community in order to help create or improve the economic well-being and to offer the space of the college for moments such as social events of art and culture, and others that enhance the quality of life.
